“Claude Code 무료 크레딧”이라고 적힌 링크가 모두 Claude의 공식 권리는 아닙니다. 2026년 7월 5일 기준으로 모든 사용자에게 Claude Code 무료 사용 풀을 주는 공개 공식 경로는 확인되지 않습니다. Pro와 Max는 Claude Code를 포함할 수 있지만 유료 플랜입니다. 유료 초과 사용은 포함 사용량 이후 결제 경로입니다. Console 또는 Workbench 잔액은 보통 선불입니다. 연구자 지원 잔액은 자격이 있는 신청자에게만 적용됩니다. 많은 무료 Claude Code 설정 글은 클라이언트만 유지하고 다른 backend로 연결합니다.

카드를 추가하거나, 자동 충전을 켜거나, pass 링크를 수락하거나, Claude Code의 backend를 바꾸기 전에 다섯 가지를 먼저 확인하세요. 다음 요청의 미터는 누구 것인가, 모델은 누구 것인가, 결제는 어디로 가는가, 언제 만료되는가, 문제가 생기면 누가 지원하는가.
credits라는 말을 다섯 갈래로 나누기
credits라는 말은 한 단어지만 실제로는 plan usage, usage credits, API credits, qualified program credits, provider credits로 나뉩니다. 무료인지보다 중요한 것은 소유자와 결제 표면입니다.

Pro를 구독한다고 API credits가 생기지 않습니다. Max도 API wallet이 아닙니다. cloud credit이나 router deposit은 해당 provider의 결제 경로로 보아야 합니다.
Usage credits는 유료 초과 사용
Usage credits는 포함 사용량이 부족할 때 계속 작업하기 위한 기능입니다. 사용자가 유료 초과 사용을 선택하고, 결제 방법과 spend preference, balance, auto-reload를 관리해야 합니다. 따라서 무료 크레딧을 찾는 문제가 아니라 다음 세션이 paid consumption으로 넘어가는지 확인하는 문제입니다.

API credits는 Console 잔액
Claude API와 Workbench credits는 Console billing에 속합니다. 일반 API 사용은 선불 잔액을 기반으로 하고, 성공한 API call과 완료된 task가 잔액을 차감합니다. 구매한 credits에는 공개 조건상 만료가 있습니다.
API route에서는 먼저 organization과 payer를 확인하고, balance와 expiry를 확인하고, auto-reload가 있는지 확인하고, Claude Code가 실제로 해당 API key를 사용하는지 확인합니다. provider, router, cloud route가 끼어 있으면 소유자가 바뀐 것입니다.
External Researcher Access Program은 공식 무료 API-credit lane이지만 좁은 신청제입니다. AI safety와 alignment 연구자에게 API credits를 제공하는 경로이며, Claude 앱, Pro, Max, 일반 Claude Code pass를 주는 경로가 아닙니다.
gift와 guest pass 구분
Claude gift subscription은 공식 gift route이지만 누군가가 구매한 paid gift입니다. 수신자가 카드 없이 redeem할 수 있어도 plan, duration, redemption, expiry, renewal 조건을 읽어야 합니다. 모든 사용자에게 공개된 guest pass와 다릅니다.
Guest pass나 pass claim은 본인의 공식 Claude 또는 Anthropic 계정 화면에 terms가 보일 때까지 account-specific으로 취급하세요. 스크린샷, 공유 URL, 커뮤니티 댓글만으로 현재의 전체 사용자 정책을 증명할 수 없습니다.

무료 설정이 다른 backend일 때
Claude Code client는 그대로 두고 backend만 Gemini, OpenRouter, cloud route, local model, compatible endpoint로 바꾸는 글이 있습니다. 학습에는 쓸 수 있지만 공식 Claude 무료 크레딧은 아닙니다. model owner, billing owner, logs, privacy, support, rate limits가 바뀝니다.

개인 테스트라면 이런 route가 유용할 수 있습니다. 회사 코드, 고객 데이터, secrets, production repo를 보내려면 먼저 data terms를 읽어야 합니다. compatible backend는 선택지이지 official free Claude credits가 아닙니다.
상황별 선택
공식 Claude Code가 필요하고 비용을 낼 수 있다면 Pro 또는 Max로 로그인하고 /status와 Settings > Usage를 확인하세요. Max는 더 큰 유료 사용량이 필요할 때 선택하는 것이며 무제한이어서 선택하는 것이 아닙니다.
Pro/Max에서 제한에 걸렸다면 reset을 기다릴지 usage credits를 켤지 결정합니다. usage credits를 켠다면 spend cap, balance, auto-reload를 먼저 확인합니다.
