Why the old US student route is not a fallback

More importantly, Google's current Gemini API billing page says accounts opened after March 2, 2026 cannot use Welcome credit for Gemini API or AI Studio usage; the page also states that Gemini API usage is excluded from the $300 Cloud Free Trial starting March 2026.
